Durre Shehwar Ali is an Assistant Professor at Beaconhouse National University, Program Coordinator for the IEDA Program, and a member of the International Social Design Network (SDN). With a background in Industrial Design and Design Research from the University of Arts in Bern, Switzerland and NUST, Islamabad, she specialises in Social Design. Durre has worked on national and international projects addressing critical social and healthcare challenges. Her research explores power, politics, neocolonial practices in design education and practice, and technological solutionism’s impact on public spaces and democratic systems.
